Grumpy Cat is going to Toronto!!!

by Danielle
Events + Humour / July 14, 2014

We're so excited to announce Grumpy Cat is going to Toronto (and four US cities)!

Grumpy Cat to Embark on 5-City Book Tour

International Star and Cat Curmudgeon Brings Wit, Wisdom and Indifference to Her Fans

Grumpy Cat, the feline with the famous frown, will appear in five cities to promote her new book, The Grumpy Guide to Life: Observations by Grumpy Cat (August 5th, $15.95, Chronicle Books), the follow-up to New York Times bestseller Grumpy Cat: A Grumpy Book. Tour stops include Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York City, Chicago and Toronto where Grumpy Cat will glower and pose with her fans for photos. Grumpy Cat’s appearances regularly draw thousands of attendees who want to see the world’s grumpiest cat who has become a pop culture luminary.

The Grumpy Guide to Life: Observations by Grumpy Cat is the alternative to feel-good, positive thinking. Rather, Grumpy Cat brings the advice, maxims and observations that have made her the spirit animal for people everywhere. With sections on family, relationships, nature, and even happiness (admittedly, a very short section), success is just a frown away.

Insanewiches; 101 Ways to Think Outside the Lunchbox

by Danielle
Food & Drink / August 19, 2011

Are you bored with lame ol'sandwiches? Well there's this new book out from St. Martin's Press that will have you excited for lunch again. Filled with fun, quirky and easy to make recipes Insanewiches; 101 Ways to Think Outside the Lunchbox will help you rekindle your love for the luncheon meal that everyone loves to hate. The book came from a wickedly popular blog insanewiches.com. The creator of the site, Adrian Fiorino, was born into food culture and raised on a steady diet of offbeat humor. He draws inspiration from the most unexpected sources: cell phones, puzzles, power drills, and even sports cars.

Some recipes that included are:
-The Rubix Cubewich---the sandwich that started it all
-The Pancake Popwich---an irresistible breakfast on a stick
-The Sumo Sandwich---a heavyweight that’s overstuffed with steak, chicken, salmon, and assorted mushrooms, radish and scallions
-The Pumpkin Cheeseburger and Along Came a Spider---kooky concoctions the kids will love,

-Cosmo Martini Sandwich---made with a cranberry muffin and orange slices, just for the girls.

So take a stroll to your local bookshop and pick up a copy, then go to your grocer and grab some ingredients to construct some of these outrageous concoctions!

Oh and of course ENJOY!!

Yellow Bird Project has worked with an amazing range of indie rock musicians (Bon Iver, The Shins, Joseph Arthur, The National to name a few) to create unique t-shirt designs (designed by the musicians) that benefit an array of charities. Each charity is chosen by the musicians as well, so YBP has given money to a variety of charities; St, Jude's Children's Research, AIDS society, Mercy Corp, etc!. The goal of Yellow Bird Project is to do something fun that encourages philanthropy in young people and support the artists we love. For more information about YBP's mission, and to purchase T-shirts crafted by some of the bands in this book, please visit http://www.yellowbirdproject.com.
